I hope the world catches on fire

I hope the world catches on fire
And I mean that in literal terms
I hope everything comes crashing
And all order devolves into chaos

I’m not hoping to be a hero
Or on a superhero to come save us
I hope you won’t see me as the villain;
Or as a sadist craving an overdue fix

You see, If the world had big problems
I’d have excuses for my failures
If the earth suddenly caved in
No one would blame me for falling in

I’d pick that over trying explaining
how all my little demons scurrying around
Could band together
to drag me into the ground.
